ADOC Week

ADOCi Week brings together representatives from public and private sectors from six APECi economies to share expertise and experiences on how to bridge the digital divide within the APEC community.

ADOC Week brings together representatives from public and private sectors from six APEC economies to share expertise and experiences on how to bridge the digital divide within the APEC community.

ADOC believes that the sharing, learning, and leveraging of each member economy’s best e-practices will have positive influences on the adoption of information and communication technologies (ICT) within the APEC community.

Last year, ADOC Week 2005 was a great success. This year, ADOC Week 2006 will again attract representatives from the public and private sectors of the six ADOC partner member economies (PMEs)—Chile, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Peru, the Philippines, and Vietnam—to engage in a series of forums, activities, and events that aim to bridge the digital divide within the Asia-Pacific region.

ADOC Week 2006 will commence with the ADOC Plenary and the opening of the ADOC Information and Communications Technology Application Exhibition, followed by a number of forums featuring best ICT practices from within APEC for e-Government, SMEsi, and bridging the digital divide. The forums will enable participants to share experiences on a unique array of practical and interesting ICT practices.

The week will culminate with ADOC Night/ADOC Award Ceremony, a gala event in which all participants will come together to celebrate their efforts and work in bridging the digital divide as well as receive awards in recognition for their efforts to bridge the digital divide.
