NEC presented a first prototype of this computer module which will go out to the market with a price between 15 thousand yens and 20 thousand yens (121 and 161 Euros).

NEC, the manufacturer of electronics, will commerce in September a desktop computer with the capacity of showing 3D images, as the local agency Kyodo informed.

The computer will integrate a Blu-Ray disc reader, which will allow watching movies and executing programs in 3D with the support of special glasses. Also, a TV tuner will allow seeing shows emitting 3D images.

NEC has already presented a mobile computer in 2004 which incorporated 3D technology but this novelty had no results due to the high price it was managed.

The NEC’s announcement matches the arrival to the market of high definition televisions which incorporate 3D technology, like the Panasonic model, which arrives to the stores in Japan, and Sony arrives in June.

A study from AT Kearney released in 2008 that if the Mexican industry grew with the same rhythm as the global level, only the market of outsourcing would demand 150 thousand professionals.

México has in the industry of Information Technologies (IT) a potential source generated from foreign exchange, but requires qualified human source to compete with courage with China and India, therefore the initiative “México First” is looking to certify in five years 60 thousand professionals in IT.

“This objective doubles the agreed goal with Banco Mundial, and with new schemes one hundred thousand certified professionals will overcome with the same budget”, pointed out Raúl González  Reyna, National Director of Operations.

As a project of the Secretaría de Economía through Prosoft, El Banco Mundial, Canieti, Amiti and Anie; “México First” has certified since October 2008 to the date, ten thousand five hundred professionals and will close the year with twelve thousand.

The investment on these five years is over one hundred million dollars starting with 38.8 millions donated by the federal government, the rest will come from state governments where operate the 24 clusters of the country, enterprises and universities.

According to a study, 60% of SMEs which have a website use somehow online advertisings.

Sixty percent of the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Latin America which have a website and fourteen percent of the ones which do not have it, use somehow online advertisings. The data is deployed from a study made by Pyramid Research which was released in the framework of the third edition of Google GPS (Google Press Summit) the encounter that Google Latin America realizes every year with journalists of the region.

“We observe a tremendous potential for the adoption of online tools among the SMEs of the region. Nowadays, around the 31 percent of the population in Latin America and the Caribbean use Internet and this means the consumer is demanding new functionalities and more options in the electronic commerce and, therefore, the traditional merchandisers must follow the marked out trend by the user in order to not remain out of the game”, explained Alexander Hohagen, General Director of Google Latin America.

The study made by Pyramid Research  and sponsored by Google among 3,600 SMEs from different sectors of the industry in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia and México, concluded that the adoption of online tools for sells and marketing is still incipient in the region but it has a potential for a very fast growing. The results of the study indicate that the interest for venturing in the online world is very high among the enterprises of the medium market from Latin America.

 The software piracy is a global trouble which generates more problems than what it is thought: besides the economic losses, eliminates employment sources, hinders the progress of a country (economically, technologically and academically).

 “It is a problem of perception: it is thought that buying something pirate is not harmful, when it is the door to more felonies of the organized crime”, explains Kiyoshi Tsuru, General Director of the Business Software Alliance (BSA) in México.

And as how it is explained, the software piracy is not a problem provoked by the price factor but for the lack of education on the topic. “Buying original computer software is not altruism. Who does it, does not detect that generates a damage that at the same time, generates other troubles” adds Tsuru.

Even México dos not figures among the countries with the highest levels of piracy, it is placed on the number thirteen in generated losses.

This year mobile phones focused on social networks will arrive with a low cost.

Social Networks have made the mobile phone manufacturers to amplify their offer on devices made specifically to join these sites.

An example of it is the release of the models from the last week by Microsoft, which marks its entrance with its own cell phones, and Nokia.

For the specialists from Nielsen Online, the 25 percent of the users who access to social networks do it through a smartphone, the 49 percent to send messages and the other 51 percent to read them.

Chamath Pilihapitiya, vice-president of growing and mobility of Facebook, expressed that 100 million of users join their social network by mobile services.

The unit will start three complaints against the company for alleged failure on interconnection agreements

The Secretariat of Communications and Transport (SCT) decided to open three sanctions procedures against Teléfonos de México for alleged breach of the obligations established in its concession title on interconnection agreements and disruption to services with its network interconnection. 

These processes are derived from views expressed previously by the Comisión Federal de Telecomunicaciones (Cofetel), organ in which to settle interconnection disputes local phone companies and long distance submitted. 

"The Cofetel found that Telmex has complied with the obligation to deliver to various dealers and Cofetel information on intercity transit stations, power with routing capability concerning the direction and geographical coordinates, function, hierarchy and service areas serving local, "said SCT.

Axtel and Alestra, Megacable and Grupo Hevi about to achieve alliances 

The market of telecommunications in México will continue configuring. According with Banamex, it is hoped that enterprises like Axtel and Alestra could get a fusion, that Megacable acquires Grupo Hevi and soon announces an strategic alliance with the purpose of becoming a virtual mobile operator. 

“We hope Megacable announces a transaction to operate a virtual mobile network, which would allow maintaining a low rate of customers’ disconnection. Therefore, its capital and operating expenses”, pointed in an analysis about the sector. 

Megacable hopes to achieve among 400 and 450 thousand digital boxes in 2010.

Televisa informed the three enterprises will participate as a consortium in the tender.

Televisa will associate with Megacable and Telefónica to realize an offer for the optic fiber services, in an auction the government is operating. Televisa said the three companies would have the same strength in the partnership.

“The three companies will participate as a consortium in the tender and the final conformation is in subject for the tender to be a success”, said the firm.
