ADOC e-Commerce Center Opens in Jakarta

ADOCi has opened its e-Commerce Center in Jakarta on April 25th, 2007. It is the fourth Center operating in Indonesia under the joint effort between Indonesian Information Technology Federation (FTII) and the ADOC Secretariat of Chinese Taipei.

ADOC, which stands for Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APECi) Digital Opportunity Center, is solely funded by Chinese Taipei to implement its recommendation of 'Bridging the Digital Dividei Among APEC Members' at the APEC Leaders' Summit in Brunei in 2000. This recommendation was warmly welcomed by APEC Leaders, since it addressed problems brought about by uneven distribution of knowledge and access to information and communication technology (ICT).
