- ABACsearch for term
- APECi Business Advisory Council. Established in 1995, this is a permanent council composed of up to three senior business people from each member economy to provide advice on implementation of APEC action plans and on other specific business sector priorities.
- Abstractionsearch for term
- Changing the interface of an object and exposing it in a more useful form. Abstractioni may be done by providing a layer of software which makes an object or collection of objects easier to manage by exposing a different object with a different interface.

- The APECi Business Travel Card scheme provides bona fide frequent business travellers with visa-free travel and expedited airport processing when visiting participating economies.
- Accessibilitysearch for term
- A characteristic of technology that enables people with disabilities to use it. For example, accessible Websites can be navigated by people with visual, hearing, motor, or cognitive impairments. Accessible design also benefits people with older or slower software and hardware.
- Adaptive Enterprisesearch for term
- A marketing term used extensively by HP. An adaptive enterprise matches supply and demand of IT resources in real time, so the business can quickly manage and capitalize on change. An adaptive enterprise can synchronize its IT resources with the demands of its business environment; similar to IBM's On-Demand Business.

- ADOCi, a non-profit organization funded by Chinese Taipei, was created in August 2004. ADOC's work is characterized by cooperation between the public and private sectors and serves as a platform for analyzing and expanding digital advancements and policies among APECi member economies.

- A type of DSL that uses the majority of the bandwidth to transmit information to the user and a small part of the bandwidth to receive information from the user.

- The APECi Food System (AFSi) was established in February 1999 as a ad hoc task force. It is a joint and cross-cutting action being implemented by all APEC Member Economies and APEC fora to achieve three food related goals - the development of rural infrastructure, the promotion of trade in food products, and the dissemination of technological advances in food production and processing. These goals are all aimed at improving the efficiency of food production and trade for the benefit of APEC Member Economies.

- An international association of technology-based training professionals that develops training guidelines for the aviation industry. AICCi has and is developing standards for interoperability of computer-based and computer-managed training products across multiple industries.

- Learning in which interaction between instructors and students occurs intermittently with a time delay. Examples are self-paced courses taken via the Interneti or CD-ROMi, Q&A mentoring, online discussion groups, and email.

- Agricultural Technical Cooperation Working Group (ATCWGi) was established in 1996 as a formal APECi body. Two prior meetings agreed on a work program of joint activities to enhance agriculture's contribution to the region's economic growth and social well-being and developed a framework for undertaking those cooperative activities. Following SOMi I in 1999, the ATCEG has expanded the scope of its priority areas incorporating part of Food, Energy, the Environment, Economic growth and Population (FEEEPi) joint actions; (a) food and agricultural related research and development; (b) trade and other matters; and (c) food and agricultural environmental issues.

Types of authoring tools include instructionally focused authoring tools, Web authoring and programming tools, template-focused authoring tools, knowledge capture systems, and text and file creation tools.
- Autonomic Computingsearch for term
- The capability of computer systems and networks to automatically configure themselves to changing conditions and heal themselves in the event of failure. Autonomy implies that less human intervention is required for operation under such conditions.

- In online environments, a virtual digital image representing a person. In e-learning avatars usually represent the learners. The term comes from a Sanskrit word meaning an incarnation in human form.
