It includes the delivery of content via Interneti, intranet/extranet (LANi/WANi), audio- and videotape, satellite broadcast, interactive TV, CD-ROMi, and more.

ECsearch for term
The Economic Committee (ECi) was established by APECi members in 1994. The Committee analyses economic trends and issues in support of APEC's trade and investment liberalisation facilitation and economic and technical cooperation agendas.
ECHsearch for term
The ECOTECHi Clearing Housei website provided access to a central authorative ECOTECH information resource. The Clearing House included an ECOTECH information exchange which promotes partnerships in economic and technical cooperation. The ECH has been discontinued.
ECOTECHsearch for term
ECOTECHi' or economic and technical cooperation forms one of the three pillars of APECi activity. ECOTECH covers a variety of capacity-building and information sharing activities conducted by APEC bodies. These are aimed at enhancing members' - especially developing members' - ability to benefit from the liberalisation agenda and reducing disparities within the diverse APEC region. APEC Ministers have directed that ECOTECH work should focus on six priority areas: developing human capital, developing stable, safe and efficient capital markets, strengthening economic infrastructure, harnessing technologies for the future, safeguarding the quality of life through environmentally sound growth, and developing and strengthening the dynamism of small and medium sized enterprises.
ECOTECH Information Xchangesearch for term
The ECOTECH Information Xchangei was an informal public discussion forum for sharing ECOTECHi related information and experience. It was opened to APECi personnel and anybody in the wider economic and technical cooperation community. Everyone can view discussion and survey topics 'posted' to the Information Xchange. However only registered users can add a message to a discussion topic, set up a new topic or survey others.
ECSGsearch for term
The Electronic Commerce Steering Group (ECSGi) was established by the SOMi in February 1999. It acts as a coordinating role for APECi e-commerce activities, based on the principles set out in the 1998 APEC Blueprint for Action on Electronic Commerce. The ECSG is committed to promoting and facilitating the development and use of electronic commerce by creating legal, regulatory and policy environments in the APEC region that are predictable, transparent and consistent. Its mandate has been extended by the SOM to February 2005.

The person for whom a particular technology is designed; the individual who uses the technology for its designated purpose. In e-learning, the end user is usually the student.
Enterprise Gridsearch for term


A collection of networked grid components usually managed by a single enterprise, such as a business entity responsible for managing a pool of resources, a set of services, and the assignment of resources to services to meet business goals.


Services range from traditional commercial enterprise applications, such as ERPi or CRMi, to newer, distributed applications or services; boundaries are defined by management responsibility and control.


Enterprise grids are typically differentiated by management practices and technology which:


 ? Make management service or application centric, rather than component centric;


? Enable the pooling and sharing of networked resources;


? Enable agility through rapid and automated service provisioning.

Enterprise Grid Alliance (EGA)search for term
The Enterprise Gridi Alliance is a consortium of leading vendors and customers focused on developing Enterprise Grid solutions. The EGA, an open, independent, vendor-neutral organization, was formed in order to identify obstacles facing enterprises in adopting grid technologies, and to promote open, interoperable solutions to these problems.

1) A computer application that's linked directly to another application to train or guide workers through completing a task in the target application. 2) More generally, a computer or other device that gives workers information or resources to help them accomplish a task or achieve performance requirements.
ERPsearch for term
A set of activities supported by application software that helps a company manage such core parts of its business as product planning, parts purchasing, inventory management, order tracking, and customer service. Can also include modules for finance and HR activities. The deployment of an ERPi system can involve considerable business process analysis, employee retraining, and new work procedures.
ESCsearch for term
The SOMi Committe on ECOTECHi assists the Senior Officials Meeting (SOM) in coordinating and managing APECi's ECOTECH agenda and identifying value-added initiatives for cooperative action. The ESCi advances the effective implementation of the 1996 Manila Framework for Strengthening Economic and Technical Cooperation and Development by consulting APEC Forai and developing policy management tools and guidelines for projects.

EVSLsearch for term
Early Voluntary Sectoral Liberalisation (EVSLi) refers to the identification of sectors where early voluntary liberalisation would have a positive impact on trade, investment, and economic growth in the individual APECi economies as well as in the region. EVSL is based on the principle of voluntarism and the establishment of mutually beneficial packages.
EWGsearch for term
The Energy Working Group (EWGi), launched in 1990, seeks to maximise the energy sector's contribution to the region's economic and social well-being, while mitigating the environmental effects of energy supply and use. The EWG contributes to decision-making through: discussion of members' energy policies and planning priorities; sharing basic resource demand and supply outlook data and considering the regional energy policy implications; and responses to wide-ranging energy-related issues.
Extranetsearch for term
A local-area network (LANi) or wide-area network (WANi) using TCPi/IPi, HTMLi, SMTP, and other open Interneti-based standards to transport information. An extranet is only available to people inside and certain people outside an organization, as determined by the organization.
