T-1search for term
High-speed digital data channel that is a high-volume carrier of voice and/or data. Often used for compressed video teleconferencing. T-1i has 24 voice channels.
T-3search for term
A digital channel that communicates at a significantly faster rate than T-1i.
TCBDBsearch for term
Currently, there is no known SARSi transmission anywhere in the world. The most recent human cases of SARS-CoV infection were reported in China in April 2004 in an outbreak resulting from laboratory-acquired infections (see Laboratory Biosafety for more details). CDC and its partners, including the World Health Organization, continue to monitor the SARS situation globally. Any new updates on disease transmission and SARS preparedness activities will be posted at this site.

TELsearch for term
The Telecommunications and Information Working Group (TELi) was formed in 1990. Under its first Chair, the United States, TEL was charged to address human resource development; technology transfer and regional cooperation; opportunities for on-site visits; observerships and fellowships; and telecommunications standardization. The work of TEL is accomplished by four steering groups, which propose, implement and monitor projects and activities to advance the overall goals of APECi. Each steering group addresses a specific priority area: liberalisation; business facilitation; development cooperation; and human resource development.

The DOHA Agendasearch for term

The November 2001 declaration of the Fourth Ministerial Conference in Doha, Qatar, provides the mandate for negotiations on a range of subjects and other work, including issues concerning the implementation of the present agreements.


The negotiations include those on agriculture and services, which began in early 2000. A number of other issues have now been added. The declaration sets 1 January 2005 as the date for completing all but two of the negotiations. Negotiations on the Dispute Settlement Understanding are to end in May 2003; those on a multilateral register of geographical indications for wines and spirits, by the next Ministerial Conference in 2003. Progress is to be reviewed at the Fifth Ministerial Conference in Cancun, Mexico, 10-14 September 2003.

1) A network computer without hard- or diskette drives that accesses programs and data from a server instead of storing them locally.


2) Software that performs the majority of its operations on a server rather than the local computer, thus requiring less memory and fewer plug-ins.

Trade and Investment Liberalization and Facilitation (TILFi) is one of the three pillars of APECi activity. The other two pillars are Business Facilitation and Economic and Technical Cooperation (ECOTECHi).

An input device used to simplify user input and response. The user touches the screen to control the output, working with menus or multiple-choice decision points. Allows some simulation of hands-on training; for example, pointing to parts on a machine.

Trojan horsesearch for term
A malicious computer program that appears legitimate but masks a destructive file or application. Unlike viruses, Trojan horses usually do not replicate themselves but can still cause a great deal of damage, such as creating an entryway into your computer for malevolent users.
