The Minister of Economy, Development and Tourism, Juan Andrés Fontaine, chaired this morning the first Committee of Ministers of Digital Development, an instance of defining the National Strategy for 2010-2014 area.
The implementation of a unique platform for the facilitation of procedures and the appointment of a manager in the field in each ministry committee member, are among the technology policy priorities for the country.
The Minister of Economy, Development and Tourism, Juan Andrés Fontaine, chaired this morning the first Committee of Ministers of Digital Development, a body in which developed the main lines of the National Strategy for Digital Development for the country over the next four years.
During the meeting, held at the Ministry of Economy, also participated Minister Secretary General of the Presidency, Cristián Larroulet, the Justice Minister Felipe Bulnes, Health Minister, Jaime Mañalich, the undersecretary of the Treasury, Rodrigo Alvarez;Undersecretary of Telecommunications, Jorge Atton, Undersecretary of Social Welfare, Augusto Iglesias and Undersecretary for Economic, Tom Flores.
The executive secretary of the Secretariat of Digital Development, Alfredo Barriga, presented the main guidelines of the 2010-2014 agenda in this field.
One objective is to strengthen government institutions for digital development in order to continuously promote and coordinate projects in the area.
Another goal is to reduce bureaucracy in the state proceedings, for which will include 80 new institutions to the Integrated Platform of the state agency that today operates five public services.
Finally, Ministers agreed to appoint a technical committee with representatives from each of the portfolios, which will be tasked with coordinating and monitoring the agreed measures for digital development.
