Taipei, Oct. 25 (CNA) Pixar Animation Studios, a leading American film company, will be among the international enterprises taking part in a digital content fair that is scheduled to be held in Taipei Oct. 27-28, according to the organizers.
Digital Taipei 2011 will bring together professionals in cloud services, gaming, animation, e-learning, mobile application, and digital publishing industries
Among them will be an animator from Pixar, Kevin O’Hara, who has worked on such animated hits as “Up,” “Ratatouille,” and “Shrek 2.” O’Hara will give a keynote speech on “the creative culture of Pixar.”
Other speakers will include Phil Larsen, chief marketing officer at Halfbrick Studios, the Australian company that developed the hit game Fruit Ninja. Larsen will discuss ideas for “creating and marketing a worldwide mobile hit.”
James Gwertzman, general manager at PopCap Games that developed the hit game Bejeweled, has been invited to talk on the American company’s approach to quality.
Other digital content professionals expected to attend include Carlo Donzella, consultant on European Union and International Affairs, and Giulietta Fara, founder and CEO of Ass.ne Future Film Festival.
They will share their thoughts on international marketing and ways of making business propositions more effective in the global digital market.
Under the theme “content goes to the cloud,” Digital Taipei 2011 is expected to create business opportunities for more than 100 buyers and exhibitors from 14 countries, according to the Industrial Development Bureau and Digital Content Industry Promotion Office, the hosts of the event.
A cross-strait gaming forum will also be held during the expo, with delegations from the Internet Society of China and China Television Artists Association attending.
