The Second Phase APEC Digital Opportunity Center Project (ADOC 2.0 Project) is a technology- based foreign-relations program that applies Taiwan’s highly developed ICT Industry’s experience to transform the “digital divides” among APEC member economies into “digital opportunities.”

In order to assist domestic corporations in further understanding the ICT industry and market opportunities available in Southern America, New Taipei City Computer Association and ADOC Secretariat hosted an event called the 2013 ADOC ICT Road Show. The event will provide a unique opportunity for local organizations in selected ADOC Partner Member Economies to learn about the latest innovations showcased by 13 ICT companies from Taiwan. It will feature product displays, trade talks, and visits to local ICT-related organizations, with the goal of strengthening ICT business ties between Taiwan and Partner Member Economies Peru, and Mexico. The ICT Road Show was held in Peru and Mexico from April 7th to 14th, 2013.

In recent years, Taiwan’s ICT industry has been actively expanding into international markets. This expansion is directly related to growing governmental business-matching initiatives that seek to promote international business exchanges in the digital technology area. The ICT Road Show was organized by the NTCA, with the assistance of the Bureau of Foreign Trade, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Council for Economic Planning and Development, the Institute for Information Industry, ADOC Secretariat and the Chinese International Economic Cooperation Association.

The Southern America market holds a great potential in the eyes of ICT companies in Chinese Taipei. Their blossoming economies offer attractive opportunities with a large number of government offices, civil institutions and businesses increasing their demand for high-tech ICT products and services. The 2013 ADOC ICT Road Show was expected to produce positive effects such as strengthening business ties in the region, promoting Taiwan’s image and status in the ICT sector, and finally, disseminating Taiwan’s experiences in ICT development serving as a model to the region.
