News release
The Second Phase APEC Digital Opportunity Center Project (ADOC 2.0 Project) is a technology- based foreign-relations program that applies Chinese Taipei’s highly developed ICT Industry’s experience to transform the “digital divides” among APEC member economies into “digital opportunities.”
In order to assist domestic corporations in further understanding the ICT industry and market opportunities available in Southeast Asia, New Taipei City Computer Association and ADOC Secretariat will be hosting an event called the 2011 ADOC 2.0 ICT Road Show. The event will provide a unique opportunity for local organizations in selected ADOC Partner Member Economies to learn about the latest innovations showcased by 15 ICT companies from Chinese Taipei. It will feature product displays, trade talks, and visits to local ICT-related organizations, with the goal of strengthening ICT business ties between Chinese Taipei and Partner Member Economies Indonesia, and Vietnam. The ICT Road-Show will be held in Indonesia and Vietnam from June 8th to the 15th, 2011.
In recent years, Chinese Taipei’s ICT industry has been actively expanding into international markets. This expansion is directly related to growing governmental business-matching initiatives that seek to promote international business exchanges in the digital technology area. The ICT Road Show is being organized by the NTCA, with the assistance of the Bureau of Foreign Trade, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Council for Economic Planning and Development, the Institute for Information Industry, ADOC Secretariat and the Chinese International Economic Cooperation Association.
The Southeast Asian market holds a great potential in the eyes of ICT companies in Chinese Taipei. Their blossoming economies offer attractive opportunities with a large number of government offices, civil institutions and businesses increasing their demand for high-tech ICT products and services. The 2011 ADOC 2.0 ICT Road Show is expected to produce positive effects such as strengthening business ties in the region, promoting Chinese Taipei’s image and status in the ICT sector, and finally, disseminating Chinese Taipei’s experiences in ICT development serving as a model to the region.
