Rising Peruvian star Patricia Ku is confident of winning her first Junior US Open title at the September 4-11 event in New York.

The 17-year-old player told Andina news agency that she is training hard for what will be “one of the biggest challenges in her junior career.”

“I will leave for the United States very happy with the achievements I have been able to attain, which will be crucial to compete in this tournament. I am physically and emotionally fine and I’m confident to reach the final,” she said.

The 2011 US Open juniors draws will be revealed the week of September 5.

In 2010, Peru’s Duilio Beretta and Ecuador’s Roberto Quiroz defeated Oliver Golding and Jiri Vesely 6-1, 7-5, to win the US Open Boys’ Doubles title.
