Vietnam ADOC Centers

From 2005 to 2013 June, 19 ADOC Centers have been established in Vietnam and 105,519 people have received training. These centers focus mainly on trainers’ training, women and children’s ICT skills, and strengthen local SMEs’ e-commerce abilities.

VCCI (2005)

VCCI is the an ADOC Partner Office & DOC which was established in 2005 and the first in Vietnam in order to make sure the operation of the project goes smoothly in Vietnam. In 2005, ADOC Project collaborated with the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) to establish the first training center in Vietnam in order to increase competitiveness and computer literacy for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). By 2010, 76 similar centers were set up in 10 ADOC member nations, providing training for 160,000 people.

Nong Lam University (2005)

Nong Lam was a Tele-Center of ADOC centers which was established in 2005. We now have ended the cooperation with Nong Lam University.

Thai Binh Province’s People’s Committee(2005)  

Thai Binh Province’s People’s Committee was a Tele-Center of ADOC centers which was established in 2005. We now have ended the cooperation with Nong Lam University.

VCCI-HCMC (2006)

VCCI-HCMC is a Tele-Center of ADOC which was established in 2006. In May 6, 2010, HCMC, the ADOC secretariat held an “ADOC 2.0 Signing & Donation Ceremony” that marked the continuing cooperation with the Vocational Training Center of District Nine, VCCI-HCMC, and EDEN Social Welfare Foundation (HCM) at VCCI (Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, HCMC). ADOC secretariat ADOC Project has been providing women, children, disadvantaged and SMEs opportunities to learn computer skills and start their own business in Vietnam since 2005. We are hoping VCCI-HCMC will be providing children and women in Vietnam more opportunity.

TUAF (2006)

TUAF is an e-School which was established 2006. TUAF stands for “Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry” and located in northern Vietnam. Working together with Cornell University in the US and ADOC (APEC Digital Opportunity Center) on the ICT for Development (ICT4D) program, VIA donated a complete VIA pc-1 Community Solution to the Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry (TUAF), in the poorer Northern Mountainous Area of Vietnam, for the creation of a Community Information and Learning Center.

EDEN (2006)

EDEN is an e-Care Center which was established in 2006 in Vietnam. On May 6, 2010, the ADOC secretariat held an “ADOC 2.0 Signing & Donation Ceremony” that marked the continuing cooperation with the Vocational Training Center of District Nine, VCCI-HCMC, and EDEN Social Welfare Foundation (HCM) at VCCI (Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, HCMC).

The event took place in Ho Chi Minh City on May 6, 2010, honored by the presence of government officials and NGOs, including Mr. Jerry S.K. Yang(Representative of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ho Chi Minh City). The donation from the ADOC secretariat included 10 desktops to VCCI and 2 netbooks to EDEN Social Welfare Foundation (HCM).

ADOC Project has been providing women, children, disadvantaged and SMEs opportunities to learn computer skills and start their own business in Vietnam since 2005.

HCMC District 9 Vocation Training Center (2008)

HCMC District 9 is the e-Learning Digital Center of ADOC which was established in 2008. The HCMC district 9 is located on the ninth county of Hồ Chí Minh city. It is also an Job training center, and the goal of HCMC District 9 is to train local residents and teenagers. There are now 12 personal computers and projectors and digital cameras.

Vietnam E-commerce Association (2008)       

This center is established in order to explore the Vietnam’s e-commerce against the background of traditional trading but industry development is facing the risk of information loss, according to a seminar organized by the Vietnam Software Association (Vinasa) and the southern office of the Vietnam e-commerce Association (VECOM).

Nguyen Ngoc Dung, VECOM’s southern region spokesperson, said that local e-commerce had developed at a quick tempo despite barriers like payment methods but the development was facing an information security issue.
Phung Hai, head of the Network Security and System Division of Vinasa cum marketing director of MiSoft Co. Ltd., said information security was a hard challenge for enterprises as well as customers in transaction procedures because in Vietnam, hackers were becoming more sophisticated.

Center for Women and Development (2009)

Center for women and development is an ADOC 2.0 e-Learning Digital Center which was established in 2009. Center for women and development was established based on the order of chief of Vietnam people republic party. Center for women and development aims to elaborate the productivity, living standards of Vietnam women. In the meantime, it helps women in Vietnam to run a hostel, conference center and vocational training center.

Sonadezi College of Technology and Management (2009)

Sonadezi is an ADOC 2.0 e-Learning Digital Center which was established in 2009. Sonadezi college was set up in 2005 in Vietnam, located on the northeast area of Hồ Chí Minh city. This area is the major economic area of the south and southeast. Sonadezi is set up by a national operated enterprise in 2005 and has an important meaning of development and trade to southern society.

Binh Duong Fine Art College, Binhduong (2010)

Binh Duong Fine Art College, Binhduong is an ADOC 2.0 e-Learning Digital Center which was established in 2010 together with Taipei School in Ho Chi Minh, Education Center Regular of Lam Dong Province and TTZ. Due to the tight cooperation with Vietnam government and local enterprises, ADOC project has done an outstanding job in Vietnam. And then ADOC decided to invest even more resources in Vietnam, hoping that we can make it sooner to reduce the digital divide so that everyone in Vietnam will have an fair opportunity.

Due to the tight cooperation with Vietnam government and local enterprises, ADOC project has done an outstanding job in Vietnam. And then ADOC decided to invest even more resources in Vietnam, hoping that we can make it sooner to reduce the digital divide so that everyone in Vietnam will have an fair opportunity.

Taipei School in Ho Chi Minh City (2010)

Taipei School in Ho Chi Minh is an ADOC 2.0 e-Learning Digital Center which was established in 2010 together with TTZ, Education Center Regular of Lam Dong Province and Binh Duong Fine Art College, Binhduong. TTZ Employee Training and Recreation Center (2010)

TTZ is an ADOC 2.0 e-Learning Digital Center which was established in 2010 together with Taipei School in Ho Chi Minh, Education Center Regular of Lam Dong Province and Binh Duong Fine Art       College, Binhduong. Due to the tight cooperation with Vietnam government and local enterprises, ADOC project has done an outstanding job in Vietnam. “World Vision Vietnam Vocational Training Center, Phuoc Son, Quang Nam” (2011)

APEC Digital Opportunity Center

World Vision Vietnam is an APEC Digital Opportunity Center which was establish in 2011. World Vision Vietnam (WVV) began working in Vietnam in 1960, providing support to orphaned children and orphanages. WVV developed programs to provide support to homeless people, education and health for children separated from their families and orthopedic rehabilitation services.

“World Vision Vietnam Nguyen Ba Ngoc Primary School, Phuoc Son, Quang Nam” (2011)   

World Vision Vietnam is an APEC Digital Opportunity Center which was establish in 2011. World Vision Vietnam (WVV) began working in Vietnam in 1960, providing support to orphaned children and orphanages. WVV developed programs to provide support to homeless people, education and health for children separated from their families and orthopedic rehabilitation services. The center is equipped 42 sets of notebook by ADOC. Up to now, 10 training classes are organized, with 312 primary students. The students have ages from 9-11 year old. Of which, 162 students are girl. The training course is about basic IT.

Informatics – sci&tech information Center of Quang Tri (2011)      

ADOC Secretariat opened two new APEC Digital Opportunity Centers in Quang Tri province and Hue city, Vietnam, this past June 15th. The centers were established in cooperation with local partners Informatics – Sci&tech Information Center of Quang Tri, and Zhi Shan Foundation. In June 16th, ADOC Secretariat, with the cooperation of local partner World Vision Vietnam, opened two additional new ADOC Centers in Phuoc Son District. During the centers’ opening ceremony in Hanoi, Dr. Chih-Kung Lee, representing ADOC Secretariat, symbolically donated the two centers to World Vision Vietnam, with Mr. Chih-Peng Huang acting as a witness during the event.

Compassion International, Hue Branch (2011)     

We hold the “ADOC digital center opening and donating ceremony” in Quang Vinh Second Elementary school at Hue,Vietnam in June19th. ASUS Vietnam donated 20 ASUS personal computers to Zhi Shan Foundation, which makes the total number of ADOC digital centers 19 in Vietnam. ADOC secretariat worked with Zhi Shan Foundation to set up ADOC digital training center. We invited the vice director of Department of Education, Quang Dien, Hue Vietnam - Nguyen Thai Hiep, manger of ASUS Vietnam - Jeff Lo to join our program.

Zhi Shan Foundation (2012)
